After a year of rave reviews, fine dining and the site of some of the hottest events, tapas-style restaurant, El Tapeo, will celebrate its first anniversary by offering guests a savory prix fixe menu throughout the month of August. Diners will enjoy one appetizer, one salad, one entrée and one dessert, plus bottomless signature red or white sangria, all for only $50 plus tax. Located on the 9th floor of Le Méridien Chicago, Oakbrook Center, 2100 Spring Road in Oak Brook, El Tapeo boasts breathtaking views of the city with floor-to-ceiling, wrap around windows. Culinary artist and Chicago native Executive Chef Franco Diaz has created the menu of the restaurant’s most popular dishes as decided by guests over the past year. Appetizer tapas selection includes Datiles, Medjool dates stuffed with almonds and wrapped in bacon, Mejillones, sherry vinegar poached mussels, peppers, onions, garlic and cilantro, Gambas, shrimp sautéed in garlic as well as Croquetas de Setas, cremini mushroom fritters and cilantro yogurt; salads include Pulpo, black pepper glazed octopus, fennel salad and lime dressing as well as Ensalada de Pera, rioja wine poached pear, baby spinach, blue cheese and almonds; entrees include Carne Asada, Pollo, orange tomato glazed chicken and garlic potato; as well as the restaurant’s famous Pescado del Dia Pollo, serrano wrapped monkfish, sautéed clams and frisee citrus salad. Guests will finish off their meal with a dessert selection including Churros, Tarta de Limon, and Cremá Catalana, a dark chocolate brûlee custard. Hailed as “A harmonious dining experience” by the Daily Herald, El Tapeo’s sleek dining room and lounge offer guests the ultimate relaxing atmosphere. Regular hours for the restaurant are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The lounge is open from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
