BP Student Ideas Competition 2019
Calling all students in grades 7 through 12 in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area! The 2019 BP Student Ideas Competition at the Chicago Architecture Biennial invites students to respond to the question, “How would you transform a vacant or underused space in your community?
The competition asks students to create and share ideas about how design can play a role in creating shared spaces and improving communities. Submissions can explore ideas about architecture and the built environment from a wide range of disciplines, including design, the humanities, visual and performing arts, and STEM.
This competition gives students a way to take what they’re learning in the classroom and apply it in the real world in a way that makes a difference in their communities. Competition winners will receive educational and cash prizes and will have their work on display at the Chicago Cultural Center during a portion of the Biennial, which will be open from September 19, 2019 through January 5, 2020.
Submissions due by 5:00 p.m. CST on April 12, 2019.
