Event tags: seniors, support group, Memory Loss

As part of The Holmstad’s ongoing support for families and caregivers affected by memory loss, the faith-based senior living community is launching an additional support group specifically for those diagnosed with the condition. Letters to Myself is a free support group that will meet the fourth Monday of the month at 1:30 p.m., beginning Jan. 22, in the Town Center classroom at The Holmstad, located at 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia.

Letters to Myself provides those diagnosed with memory loss a safe, private place where they can share their thoughts and discuss challenges with others affected by the disorder. Loved ones or caregivers who provide transportation will be directed to an area with refreshments for waiting.

Rachel Lazich, of CovenantCare at Home, will facilitate the group. She has a Master of Science degree from Western Illinois University and a strong background in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. CovenantCare at Home works with hospitals, physicians, and residential care facilities to provide Medicare–certified health care, personal care, and hospice services.

Registration is not required. For more information, call Brenda Lowden, RN, at 630-879-4034 or email her at Information about The Holmstad may be found at
