Elmhurst Choral Union and full professional orchestra present great American texts set by great American composers. Traditional folk songs, Walt Whitman, Thomas Jefferson, and Robert Frost provide the inspiration. The concert includes Copland's Old American Songs, Howard Hanson's Song of America, and Randall Thompson's The Testament of Freedom and Frostiana. Elmhurst Choral Union is an outstanding auditioned chorus singing choral masterworks of all eras, performing in the warm community setting and great acoustics of Hammerschmidt Chapel (on the campus of Elmhurst College).
