Darien - "3, 2, 1…Blast Off!" for Vacation Bible School at St. John Lutheran Church. The church, located at 7214 S. Cass Avenue in Darien, will host its annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children four-year-olds through grade six.

VBS begins on Monday, July 22 and runs through Friday, July 26. It will run from 9:00am to 11:45am on Monday through Thursday. On Friday, the time frame will be extended to 12:00 noon to accommodate the Closing Program beginning at 11:30am.

Children will launch into space-filled fun and an interstellar adventure at Vacation Bible School. In this vast and amazing universe, people sometimes feel small and on their own. Yet God loves humans each so much that He sent Jesus, His Son, to be their Savior.

Join St. John Lutheran Church to explore God’s Miraculous Mission as kids and adults alike learn about His plan of salvation from creation to the cross. Just as the earth revolves around the sun, the church's VBS revolves around God’s Word. Each day children will enjoy Bible lessons, games, snacks, crafts and music.
The materials fee for VBS is $20.00 per family regardless of the number of children if you register online before July 12. If you register online after July 12 or at the door, the material fee is $25.00 per family. In either case, you will pay when you arrive on Monday morning to check in at the pre-registered line. Online registration begins May 15 and continues through July 19 at Payment will be made when you check in on the first day.
St. John's VBS is viewed by congregation members as an opportunity to connect with the community in joy-filled service. VBS volunteers are once again ready to share the love of Jesus and Word of God with many neighborhood youth. For more information, call 630-969-7987 or email
