Footsteps of His Life
June 4 - August 29, Sheldon Peck Homestead, Lombard
The work of noted folk art portrait painter Sheldon Peck, including over a dozen original paintings from 1825-1848, will be displayed together in the Peck Homestead built in 1839. This first time ever presentation of these paintings, on loan from various private collectors and museums from across the country, will comprise a number of never-before-seen paintings. Learn more.
Hinsdale Fine Arts Festival
June 8 & 9 at Burlington Park, Hinsdale
Heralded as one of the top shows in the western suburbs of Chicago, the Hinsdale Fine Arts Festival has received West Suburban Living's "Best Summer Art Show" for 2012 - 2018. Located in the heart of downtown Hinsdale, the show hosts over 100 qualified juried artists working in various mediums. Quoted as "one of the highlights of the summer," this show is not to be missed. Naper Nights: Goddesses of Rock
June 14 at Naper Settlement, Naperville
The Goddesses of Rock are a female powerhouse cover band who rock out to songs by artists like Janis Joplin, Pat Benatar, Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Heart, Grace Slick, Tina Turner, and more! The ladies are also backed by their amazing band! Music from these incredible musicians will showcase the passionate spirit of the Weed Ladies on this special night. Learn more.

Art with Lego Bricks
Through September 15 at Morton Arboretum, Glen Ellyn
This summer, Morton Arboretum invites visitors to discover the ingenious nature-themed sculptures crafted from over a half-million LEGO bricks. Back by popular demand, artist Sean Kenney created 15 installations that can be found along pathways through the Arboretum’s east side. Learn more.
Elmhurst's Lizzadro Museum moves to Oak Brook
New location will be 1220 Kensington Road
A cornerstone of Elmhurst's cultural community, the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, closed its doors May 31 after 57 years in Wilder Park. It will move this fall into a new and larger home in Oak Brook. The museum, which opened in 1962, houses one of the largest collections of lapidary art in the world, focusing on gemstones, mineral carvings and earth science. "The new building at 1220 Kensington Road in Oak Brook provides improved space for exhibits, educational activities and special events" (lizzadromuseum.org).
