Darien - The 2nd Annual A Taste of Route 66 & Food for Kids Fundraiser was a grand success. Presented by the Rotary Club of Darien, the dinner and silent auction took place at Ashyana Banquets in Downers Grove this April.
"Thank you to all who participated," noted Joan Wayman, head of the Food for Kids program and Rotary Club of Darien member. "We raised $31,000! That will serve 200 children for the next 3 school semesters."
The Rotary Club of Darien's Food for Kids Program provides nutritional meals to food-insecure school children on weekends during the school year. The program supplements the primary source of food for the students, which is often the school cafeteria. (darienrotaryclub.org)
