People’s Resource Center- Peter Koutoupis, Administrative Supervisor at People’s Resource Center in Westmont, had an unexpected surprise when he received a call last month from Joann Hallensteiner at Oak Trace retirement community in Downers Grove. Joann manages its resale store, which was discontinuing clothing sales, and she wanted to donate the remainder to PRC.
The generous donation was much appreciated. It took Peter two pickups in an SUV and one in the PRC van to get the clothing and clothing racks over to the Westmont Clothes Closet! The closet is open three times each week, and clients can choose seasonally appropriate, gently-used clothing for their families.
PRC thanks Joann and the Oak Trace residents for their support. As a reminder, we accept clean clothing donations at 104 Chestnut in Westmont from 8am – 4pm Monday thru Friday and 8am – 12pm on Saturdays.
PRC Needs Baby Items
At People's Resource Center, we
welcome everyone with open arms. That certainly includes our youngest
neighbors, too. Did you know that we give special layette bags to every client
family with a new baby? What a great welcome!
In Westmont, volunteer Kathy Gajewski creates adorable bags for our smallest visitors. Each sweet bag includes diapers, toys, clothes and books. If you'd like to donate layette items, bring them to 104 Chestnut from 8am – 4pm Monday thru Friday and 8am – 12pm on Saturdays. Make sure they are marked “Layette,” and they’ll go directly to Kathy for new moms, dads and babies.
