Colonial Cafe Match Day doubles contributions Saturday, December 9th in support of The Salvation Army

Valley Area, IL (December 6, 2017) – Since 1951, Colonial
Cafe has been involved with The Salvation Army in the Tri-Cities area and
giving back to those in need in the community. From the first well dug for fresh
water to providing a $30,000 match gift for the seventh annual Colonial Cafe Match
Day, the Anderson family has been in partnership with The Salvation Army since
the relationship started with Joe K. Anderson over six decades ago. Another
family tradition for the past seven years has been ringing bells at Colonial
Cafe locations during Match Day. This year will be no different for the
Anderson family, so please stop by and help The Salvation Army say, “thank you
for your support,” at the Colonial Cafe locations.
Giving back to the community and supporting those in need is crucial, “especially during a shortened holiday season that is affecting our red kettle campaign this year,” states Beverly Peterson, Fox Valley Regional Development Director. The sound of The Salvation Army bells is a reminder that need has no season and that community support is vital to its success. In an effort to support their Christmas fundraising needs, Colonial Cafe is offering a match of donations up to $30,000 throughout the Fox Valley area for the seventh annual Colonial Cafe Match Day this Saturday, December 9th.
Donations made to all the red kettles in St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Aurora, Naperville, Elgin, Algonquin, Crystal Lake and McHenry County on Saturday, December 9th will be matched up to $30,000. Special kettles will be placed at Colonial Café locations in Naperville, Crystal Lake, Algonquin, Elgin, Aurora and two in St. Charles. All contributions will stay local, and support the services and programs of the local Salvation Army units. A special treat card will be given to donors at the red kettles courtesy of Colonial Café.
