Due to scheduling issues, the Village of Westmont–Hsinchu, Taiwan Sister City signing ceremony has been rescheduled for Mon., Aug. 14 at the Village Hall. The event will take place at 8pm, CST, which will be the next day at 9am Taiwan time.

“This will be exciting to finally formalize our Sister City relationship,” said Mayor Ron Gunter. “We developed so many friendships and cultivated so many opportunities, not only culturally, but we’re also working on some economic development initiatives as well.”

Angela Yang, the Sister City Program Co-Chair, will be in Hsinchu County for the ceremony and will serve as a translator during the ceremony. This will be a “cyber” signing ceremony and the entire presentation will utilize SKYPE to communicate.

At this year’s Taste of Westmont, the Sister City program hosted the Taste of Taiwan food booth (pictured above), which was visited by State Representative Patti Bellock, TECO Director General Calvin Ho, Mayor Ron Gunter, ABC-TV's Judy Hsu, and other village and TECO officials and staff.
