Westmont, Illinois – On Sunday, May 21, 2017, the Westmont Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau and the Westmont Park District held the 6th Annual Westmont Pet Promenade and Party in the Park event. The event was held at Ty Warner Park, Blackhawk Drive, Westmont, from 11 AM to 2 PM in conjunction with the Westmont Park District Touch-a-Truck & Flying 4 Kids events. All events were free and open to two-footed and four-footed participants.
An estimated 650 guests enjoyed a day filled with fun activities which included a K-9 unit demonstration from the Oak Brook Police K-9 Unit and the always entertaining Cold Blooded Creatures show which featured “Bubba” the alligator, who is the one and only North American Alligator who takes commands from his trainer. The day ended with the grand finale of the Pet Promenade/Parade when the animals and their owners participated in a parade past the event judges. Recognition and Prizes were awarded to Best in Show, Best Costume, Largest Pet, Smallest Pet, Best Pet Trick and Most Unusual Pet.
This event presents a unique opportunity for families to take their pets for a fun day at the park. There were over 40 vendors showcasing products for pets and their owners. Several animal rescue associations were also in attendance with pet information and pets for adoption.
