Retire your American flag with dignity

Mar 22, 2017 08:53AM ● Published by Ben Scott

It is with great pride that the Lisle Convention & Visitors Bureau is a central location for the retirement of American flags.  Citizens, who have old flags which have become worn beyond repair, may donate them as the Boy Scouts will perform a proper flag retirement ceremony at the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony held on May 29, 2017 in downtown Lisle.

“Respectfully retiring the American flag is a great way to show appreciation of the ‘stars and stripes’ and all it stands for,” says Diane Homolka, Executive Director of the Lisle Convention & Visitors Bureau.

A collection box will be located in the Lisle Village Hall Lobby, 925 Burlington Avenue, Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.  Donations are accepted through May 26, 2017. For more information, contact Diane Homolka at 630.769.1000 or email homolka@stayinlisle.com.
