Registration for Wildcat football and cheer leading will take place Sat., June 11 from 10am–1pm. Register early for the best price. Westmont Wildcats football and cheer will be part of the TCYFL this season. Football is for ages 6–14, cheer is for ages 4–14. westmontwildcats.org
Westmont names citizen of the year
At the 2016 Westmont awards dinner, hosted by the Westmont Chamber of Commerce, Chris Svitak was named the 2015 Westmont Citizen of the year. The award is presented annually to a Westmont citizen who has demonstrated exemplary customer service in the community. The Citizen of the Year award was one of many awards presented at the event honoring Westmont businesses and citizens.

Chicagoland Daylily Society presents its daylily show July 9
The Chicagoland Daylily Society will hold its Daylily show Sat., July 9 from 11am–3pm in the Sycamore Room at Morton Arboretum, 4100 IL Rte. 53, Lisle. The daylily show is free with entrance to Morton Arboretum, so come and see the beauty of hundreds of unique specimens—some of the most beautiful daylilies in the world. chicagolanddaylilysociety.org
Westmont students recognized
The Westmont Chamber of Commerce Educational Foundation (WCCEF) and the Westmont Rotary Club combined to host a special luncheon to celebrate some of Westmont’s brightest and exceptional graduating high school seniors. The luncheon was held Tues., May 10 at Vincitori Restaurant, 14 N. Cass Ave.
WCCEF is a not-for-profit, charitable organization with a mission to provide recognition and scholarships to area students. Throughout the year, the WCCEF holds several fundraising events to raise money for scholarships for Westmont residents.
Local artists needed for Westmont historical mural project
The 100th anniversary committee is looking for local artists to work on a mural depicting various eras of Westmont history. The mural will be unveiled on Nov. 10. The online sign-up form asks for contact info, artistic background, and samples of work. Artists strengths should be in the area of illustration and murals.
