The Lisle Area Chamber hosted its 16th Annual 5K/10K Run on March 22. Runners from all over the area and including a few from Wisconsin enjoyed the beautiful Lisle Community Park. Trophies were awarded to the top male and female runners. Congratulations to 5K Gold Medal winners, Kim Gialdini of Downers Grove, 21:58 and Nathan McPherson, 17:07, of Elmhurst. The 10K Gold Medal Winners were Lisa Czepiel of Elk Grove Village, 43:44 and Brent White, 43.31 of Homer Glen. Medals were presented to the top three male and top three female finishers in each age bracket. Results are posted at racetime.info. Rich Janor, from Janor Sports kept the festivities going as our announcer in the Lisle High School gym where runners warmed up after their race. Thank you to our sponsors, Molex, Inc., Lisle Park District, AthletiCo, Blake-Lamb, DuPage Medical Group, Dick Pond Athletics, Essig Printing, i9 Sports, Lisle Savings Bank, Janor Sports, Williams Chiropractic, Walgreens, Leo’s Cleaners, Jewel Food Stores, Lisle Convention & Visitors Bureau and Riedy’s Tee Time. Thank you to our volunteers from Lisle Area Chamber, Lisle Teens with Character, Lisle Lions Club, Lisle Police Department, Lisle-Woodridge Fire District, Volunteers4Lisle and School District 202. We will host the Turkey Trot Tune-up 5K, Nov. 22, the Sunday before Thanksgiving at Lisle Community Park.
We look forward to our May 21 scholarship luncheon at the Hyatt in Lisle. The Lisle Area Chamber scholarship committee has selected 15 stellar students to each receive a $500 scholarship. One of the 15 scholarships will be given to a student from Lisle Savings Bank. The students will be asked to speak to the Lisle Area Chamber members about their goals for their promising futures. Mark your calendars for Lisle Cruise Nights and Block Party on Main Street in downtown Lisle on Sat., May 30, June 27, July 25 and Aug. 29 from 6–10pm. Bring your families and come to downtown Lisle and see classic cars, children activities, dancing in the streets, beer, food and music. Trophies will be awarded to best cars in five different categories.
